I have a question do you make models out of descriptions instead of just pre-drawn pictures.

Why not draw what you want it to roughly look like? I'm pretty sure you won't be made fun of if it's not an exact copy of the Mona Lisa or something like that.

You probably draw a LOT better than I do. Except where machines of war are involved. I can draw a forward view of a F-15 decently.

Yeah, I understand. Some are born with the dexterity, and some are better off just describing what they saw. Say, why not use MS Paint to recolor a sprite of a certain character until you have what you want, and maybe use this as your avatar?

I can think of no sonic characters that happen to be a penguin also I don't like recolorings it's almost like plajorism.

It is still, in the view of a person who is in the right frame of mind, an original work, even if it is just a simple recolor. Even if you did directly copy the image, it would be fair use, since your usage would not be commercial. In other words, if you make it noticeably different and don't use it to make money, they have no case. As for the "No character" problem, did you consider those the Penguinator enemies from Ice Cap Zone as your base? Please do consider using this image I dug up for you.

Then why not have your character be a hedgehog, echidna, cat, fox, or some other species that at least one main character has been of.

Cause penguins are my Favorite animal.
